Absinthe Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Bring to me
Your sons and daughters
‘Cause absinthe makes the heart
Grow fonder

[Pre-Chorus]
No, I don't care what momma says
You’ll wind me up
Or you'll wind up dead

I don't care what momma says

[Chorus]
I don’t believe whatever this is
Until you burn all of the witches
I won't believe whatever this is
Whatever they give you
Stop drinking it down

[Verse 2]
If I were you
Then I'd stop talking
'Cause soon you'll be a dead man walking

[Pre-Chorus]
No, I don't care what momma says
You'll wind me up
Or you'll wind up dead
I don’t care what momma says

[Chorus]
I don’t believe whatever this is
Until you burn all of the witches
I won't believe whatever this is
Whatever they give you
Stop drinking it down

[Bridge]
I hear voices
I see visions

These spirits
Are your prison
I hear voices
I see visions
These spirits
Are your prison

[Chorus]
I don’t believe whatever this is
Until you burn all of the witches
I won't believe whatever this is
Until you burn all of the witches
I don't believe whatever this is

About “Absinthe”

(Unreviewed)

‘Absinthe’ is the 5th song on the ‘1981 Extended Play’ EP that was released on the 9th of November 2018.
On October 8th, 2018, a snippet of the song was teased through an automated voicemail box. Instagram user @dallonclub posted a picture of a printed image of Ryan and Dallon with the word FOUND above them. Below them was the description: “Unarchived recordings from an anonymous source. use the number below to hear these sounds, and to leave your own recordings as well…”
At the very bottom were tear-away phone numbers with the number: (IDK(435)) 709-5284.
Once you call the number, you will hear the beginning 15 seconds of the song, followed by a female voice saying “Thank you for listening, we invite you to leave a message after the tone.” where you were then given the ability to leave the band a message.

What the artist says about the song:
In an interview with ARTV, that came out on 11/9/18 Dallon Weekes said: “It’s not necessarily about the alcohol”. He says the point of the song is “Don’t necessarily believe everything you hear”.

  • What have the artists said about the song?
